I still don't have a lot to write, but I'd like to rub in the presence of snow in Minnesota as it's still about 70 here... the cold is comming and I am actually looking forward to it, but I still never enjoy the first early snow in Minnesota as we all know the long winter ahead.

It's been sort of a wierd day. I've been sort of unrested. People noticed at work, I actually noticed but I can't really put my finger on what's going on. I don't think anythings bothering me, I just feel sort of strang. Perhaps it's homesickness settling in.

It's been sort of crabby around the house. I think that may be some of what is going on with me. Page has been laying into the kids about everything. It sort of rubs off on me, at least changes the karma in the house. She's pretty hard on them and I tend to want to sympathize with them. Schyler who is 17 wants to go to an after party after her boyfriends homecoming dance this weekend and Page pretty much said no. It sucks pretty bad because I know that Page knows Schyler doesn't do anything wrong. She's an athlete and diabetic so she certainly doesn't drink or do anything to risk her health and it's a party at a house where the family is home... not a place where her morals will be compromised with her boyfriend. I just stay out of it, but I still want to say "but she's a senior."

Last week Page stayed home from an evening event because Schylur would be home alone until 8. How strange is that? I don't know if it was a Page thing or a Schylur thing but WOW... she's practically an adult... once again a different world... Page has also been relentless with Lindsey over manners and picky little things. She's the type of mom that sets a crazy early bed time when the kids have sleep overs and has no TV rules. Still, I have a feeling something is stressing her out and it's rubbing off on the kids. I am just trying to stay away and out of it as much as possible.

I've spent the day writing... I can't do it anylonger... I need a break from the keyboard... both of my articles today were quite disenchanting... a WASTECON recap and a class assignment. Maybe it's just an overall bad day... I ran into a wall, cut my finger and spilled smoothie everywhere... I thought I missed myself, until i looked down three hours later and saw the mess that looked like baby puke on my shirt. No one told me... how mean.

I also had a midterm for class. A pop midterm... ack, how unfair is that. I actually think I did farily well and it was oral, so it couldn't have been that bad, but still... sort of mean, eh??

I forgot to mention I saw Kay and Dennis Bergmann before i left for Boston... they were visiting DC and took me to lunch. It was quite nice, good to see some Minnesotan friends on my turf.

I promise I'll get back to the insightful posting soon... please stay tuned.

Boston was awesome...

I went part for the Head of the Charles and Part to see Jenn Overbeck who goes to Boston College. Michelle came along with.

Our girls did awesome. The club 8 placed 3rd and is currently disqualified but hopefully only until a clerical mistake made when making the line-ups gets fixed. The four placed 10th in the Champ event which means that they barely lost to a couple of national teams (us and germany to name a few)... how awesome is that??

It was beautiful out the entire weekend. I wore short-sleeves most of the day. It was nice to bask in the sun... today was great in DC too... almost hot. I didn't get out to enjoy it though. I was exhausted. We had to get up at four to make it to our 6 o'clock flight. We should have gotten to the airport earlier. The security at Logan in Boston is crazy. It did make me feel good to know that they were really careful, but I swear the line was a quarter mile long. We made it though-- I sat by a guy on the plane who was in the airport and grew-up in Hastings, MN... he also went to Nortre Dame and new a bunch of people who played hockey (a few years older than me, but names I recognized... mostly Paul Nelson's age)

I will write more... I have yet to do my WASTECON recap, but I am tired.

It was good to see everyone this weekend. It made me miss my Minnesota friends, rowing and living with a bunch of people. Amazing job this weekend, Minnesota Crew... especially Katie, Sarah, Tricia and Emily.
